The City Council adopted the 2026-2027 budget in late August and ordered a November voter-approval tax rate election. The proposed city property tax rate is $0.57239 per $100 of taxable valuation.
Under Texas law,a city proposing a rate above its no-new-revenue rate must take the question to voters first. Mayor Pankaj said the final numbers reflected public feedback and a reduced rate versus earlier plans.
