About the pumpkin patch
The City of Paris sets up its seasonal pumpkin patch at Bywaters Park as part of the city's October slate of fall activities, giving families a free place to enjoy the season close to home. The patch pairs pumpkins with hay bales and fall decor, making it a popular spot for seasonal photos and a simple afternoon outing that requires no tickets or registration.
The patch runs through October 31 and is one of several fall activities the city announced for the month, alongside the larger Festival of Pumpkins downtown. It is a no-cost, walk-up activity, so families can drop by during park hours on their own schedule, which makes it a good pairing with the county's other October events.
Why it matters for Paris
Free public amenities like the Bywaters Park pumpkin patch are a small but steady quality-of-life investment that keeps families engaged with the city's park system and gives residents reasons to gather locally through the season. Along with the downtown festival, these activities show a city actively investing in the community-facing side of municipal life, which supports both residential appeal and the retail foot traffic that downtown businesses depend on.
