TxDOT Paris District Road Report: Week of October 26, 2026

3 min read

The week of October 26 keeps the BU 271 B sidewalk work moving through Paris and opens the Bonham Street corridor fully while crews backfill edges, with the region's heaviest closure the Craft Road bridge replacement running into December.

The TxDOT Paris District road report for the week of October 26, 2026, as published by KSST Radio and East Texas Radio, covers scheduled work across the district's nine counties. Inside Lamar County the list is light: on BU 271 B in Paris, sidewalk installation from 18th Street SE to 34th Street SE continues with temporary lane and shoulder closures during working hours, and on BU 82 H (Bonham Street), from Loop 286 to 11th Street NW, all lanes are open while the contractor backfills edges. No full road or bridge closure is listed inside Lamar County for the week.

The significant closures sit just outside the county. The Craft Road bridge over Choctaw Creek in the Denison area stays closed in both directions until December 2026 for replacement. In Sherman, the US 75 southbound-to-northbound U-turn at the US 82 frontage-road intersection is closed for the new US 75 bridge over US 82. And on FM 816, the westbound frontage road is closed October 25-28 with nightly single-lane closures from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM for bridge replacement work.

Elsewhere in the district: FM 274 sees daytime lane closures for rehab and widening from SH 78 to FM 1753, FM 36 has lane closures while crews backfill edges from US 380 to SH 66, FM 2820 has lane and shoulder closures for widening from FM 79 to FM 38, and FM 1497 has scheduled work as well. Two projects wrapped up: US 69 at US 82 near Bells has its bridge deck repair complete with only occasional minor lane closures, and CR 2905 at Sloans Creek has its bridge replacement complete with minor items remaining.

The corridor picture keeps compounding

The Bonham Street corridor returning to full lanes is a small but real convenience win for the businesses along it, and the continuing BU 271 B sidewalk work marks two full months of pedestrian infrastructure investment through the heart of Paris. Together they fit the district pattern this journal has tracked since September: routine maintenance layered on top of the large corridor programs, from the US 271 widening with its $29.3 million in FY 2026 programming to the funded Northeast Loop 286 freeway conversion slated for September 2027.

For commercial users, the takeaway is that the roads serving Paris are being improved on multiple fronts at once, and that some of the burden is now shifting outside the county as evidenced by bridge replacements in neighboring districts. Traffic moved reliably through Paris this week while the region's big project north of the Red River does the heavy lifting.

The read for 1905 E Price St

The property at 1905 E Price St is centrally located on 1+ acre with dual road frontage, an 11,000+ SF flex asset in a Multi-Family Dwelling District. Sidewalk installation and full-lane corridors around the crosstown routes keep the property convenient for tenants arriving by car or foot, and bridge replacements across the district keep extending the rural trade area that feeds Paris commerce. Access improvements of exactly this kind are the quiet foundation of lease demand.
