TxDOT Paris District Road Report: Week of September 21, 2026
Two long-duration bridge closures, one in Delta County and one in Grayson County, stay in place through December, while work on Paris sidewalks and the downtown bike lane continues into the fall.
The TxDOT Paris District road report for the week of September 21, 2026 lists active closures and projects across Fannin, Grayson, Hopkins, Franklin, Delta, Lamar, Red River, Hunt, and Rains counties. Two crossings remain closed in both directions until December 2026: the CR 3805 bridge at Spring Creek in Delta County, with detours via CR 3850, CR 3835, or CR 3830, and the Craft Road bridge over Choctaw Creek in Grayson County.
In the Sherman area, the US 75 northbound frontage road at Lamberth Drive is under a long-duration closure through September, U-turn lanes at the US 75 frontage and FM 691 are closed, and the westbound Spur 503 near US 75 is closed. US 75 through Sherman runs two lanes in each direction during the day with occasional overnight closures and a reduced 65 mph speed limit.
Work in Lamar County
Around Paris, crews continue sidewalk installation on BU 271 B, bike lane and curb repair work on First Street SW and South Main Street, drainage work on FM 79 at Little Creek, and drainage improvements on US 82 from Loop 286 in Paris to the Bowie County line. SH 19 and 24 carry bridge rail upgrades and bridge maintenance across the region.
Elsewhere in the district, FM 274 is being widened from SH 78 to FM 1753, SH 78 is in rehabilitation from FM 273 to the Oklahoma line, and several county bridges are being replaced in Delta and Red River counties, including the CR 2905 bridge at Sloan's Creek and work on the SH 37 bridge over the Sulphur River.
What it means on the ground
For investors and tenants evaluating commercial property, roadwork is a two-sided signal. Short-term, closures add minutes to commute and delivery routes. Long-term, these are the projects that modernize the corridor network, widen rural feeders, and improve the frontage and access that make a location more marketable.
The sidewalk and bike lane work on BU 271 B and downtown streets is the kind of investment that raises the quality of the pedestrian experience in the commercial core, while the regional widening program strengthens the highway network connecting Paris to Sherman, the Metroplex, and beyond.
