TEXPACC Square Dance Convention Fills Love Civic Center: October 15-17

About the convention

TEXPACC brings some of the strongest callers in the advanced and challenge world to Paris each fall. The 2026 program runs four full-time dance halls at once, one for each of the A2, C1, C2, and C3A levels, staffed by callers Vic Ceder, Ross Howell, Darryl Lipscomb, Michael Kellogg, and Tim Ploch, with part-time guest caller Ray Brendzy joining part of the weekend. Singles are welcome, and Vic Ceder's computer rotation is used for all dancers.

Dance sessions run Thursday evening, then three sessions Friday and again Saturday. Registration is cheaper in advance: through September 20, 2026 the rates were $75 for the full convention, $65 for two days, and $45 for one day; after that date they step up to $80, $70, and $50, with walk-ins at $85, $75, and $55. Online registration is open at texpacc.com, and the full session schedule is published about a month before the event.

Why it matters for Paris

A three-day convention is exactly the kind of event Paris hospitality depends on: dancers travel in from across the state, fill hotel rooms near Love Civic Center, and eat three meals a day in town. Conventions like TEXPACC are a reliable, recurring source of midweek and weekend occupancy that supports the city's hotel and restaurant corridor, and they put Paris on the calendar of a dedicated national community year after year.
